We had an incredible time during our Half Term Science Experiment Workshop, where 40 enthusiastic children joined us for a fun-filled session of discovery, creativity, and hands-on learning.
From the moment the workshop began, the room was buzzing with excitement. Our young scientists rolled up their sleeves and got straight to work creating their very own potions. Carefully measuring and mixing different ingredients, they explored how simple chemical reactions can produce surprising and colourful results.
Colour Changing Potions
One of the highlights of the session was learning how to change the colours of their potions by adding various ingredients. The children were fascinated as mixtures transformed before their eyes – from vibrant blues to magical purples and bright fizzing hues. It was a fantastic way to introduce scientific concepts in a way that felt like pure magic!
Chemical Reactions
The excitement didn’t stop there. Using their finished potions, the children then discovered how chemical reactions can create gas – enough to blow up balloons!
Watching the balloons inflate without a single breath being blown into them was a moment of awe for everyone in the room. It was hands-on science at its best, combining learning with plenty of laughter.
Most importantly, every single one of our 40 participants left with big smiles and a new appreciation for science.
Creative Science
Workshops like these are designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and show children that science can be creative, exciting, and accessible to everyone.
Thank you to all the families who booked a place – we loved seeing so many returning faces as well as welcoming new ones. We can’t wait to run more workshops in the future!
