Brynaman Fuel Club Tackles High Fuel Costs

The community bulk buying scheme, which was started in 2014 by The Black Mountain Centre in partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council, is helping address the growing issue of high fuel costs.

The scheme started with a bid to combat ever-increasing heating oil bills by collectively negotiating discounts from suppliers.

How it works…

Firstly you will need to register to become a member of The Black Mountain Centre – the membership fee is £6.00. To do this you will need to pop into The Black Mountain Centre.  Once you have completed the registration form you are ready to place your order.

To place your order you can either call into the Centre to fill in an order form, complete an order form on our website by clicking the button below or you can send your order electronically via E-mail – Brynammanfuelclub@hotmail.com

Please include the name on the account, Membership number, address of delivery and quantity of oil required.

After the ordering cut-off day, the Fuel Club Coordinators will then calculate the total amount of oil required. They will then contact the suppliers and negotiate the best price. By placing a bulk order, it gives the club greater buying power to negotiate discounted prices and suppliers will also save on transportation costs which will also cut down the area’s carbon footprint.

Once the order has been placed, the Coordinators will advertise the price and the company that secured the order. It is then the duty of fuel club members to contact the supplier to arrange payment and discuss delivery times/dates.
